GRO Foundation is dedicated to environmental sustainability, actively engages in tree-planting initiatives to conserve biodiversity, combat soil erosion, and contribute to carbon sequestration in the Elgon region. Planting trees in this region serves several crucial purposes. It helps in the conservation of biodiversity by restoring and expanding natural habitats for various species and it aids in soil erosion control, as the tree roots stabilize the soil on the mountain slopes, reducing the risk of landslides and protecting downstream ecosystems. The reforestation efforts in the Elgon region are instrumental in preserving this ecologically rich area and promoting a healthier environment and we at Gro recognise that.
